Position Purpose

Transnet Freight Rail invites unemployed South African graduates aged 18–35 to apply for its two-year Young Professional-in-Training (YPT) Programme 2025.
This structured graduate development initiative combines institutional learning and on-the-job experience, helping candidates build a solid foundation for future employability within the rail and logistics sector.

Participants will receive mentorship and performance assessments every six months to ensure progress and alignment with TFR’s professional standards and objectives.


Position Outputs

  • Participate in a two-year structured graduate development programme.
  • Gain practical work exposure across various functional areas of Transnet Freight Rail.
  • Receive ongoing mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluations every six months.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Qualification: National Diploma / BTech / Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management (NQF Level 6 or higher).
  • Experience: No prior work experience required.
  • Citizenship: South African citizen.
  • Successful applicants will be placed at various depots and departments (e.g., Leeuhof, Krugersdorp, Kilner Park).
