About the Opportunity
Volkswagen Group South Africa (Pty) Ltd invites applications for its 2025 Technical Apprenticeship Learnership Programme, offering training opportunities in the following trades:
Electrical, Mechanical Fitting, Millwright, Automotive Motor Mechanic, Tool Making, Welding, Transportation Electrician, and Mechatronics Technician.
This full-time programme, managed by the Technical Learning Academy (TLA), aims to develop technical and trade-related skills within the organisation and the community. Supported by the Union, the programme provides learners with a structured pathway to develop their careers in technical fields.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following entry criteria:
- Matric with passes in Core Mathematics and Physical Science (Maths Literacy not accepted).
- N3 Certificate (minimum of 4 subjects, including Core Mathematics and Physical Science) or higher.
Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will:
- Attend an interview with a selection panel.
- Choose a 1st and 2nd field of training preference.
- Commit to completing studies on a part-time basis.
- Refrain from working overtime during the programme unless authorised.
Application Requirements
Applications must include the following certified documents (not older than 3 months):
- Copy of National ID
- Copy of Highest School or College Qualification
- Motivational Letter detailing:
- Reasons for applying
- Preferred field of study/training (e.g. Electrical, Fitting, etc.)
- Working and Alternative Cellphone Numbers
- Current Job Title and SAP Number (for internal VW employees only)

Important Notes
- Employees who have previously completed a TLA Apprenticeship/Learnership are not eligible.
- Successful internal candidates will return to a vacant position at their current level after programme completion.
