The South African Police Service (SAPS) is recruiting for various Priority Crime Specialised Investigation Investigator positions across multiple locations. These positions offer a remuneration of Band B1: R 351 570 per annum.

Requirements

Generic Requirements for All Positions:

Competency in post-specific functions.

Senior Certificate (Grade 12).

Proficiency in at least two official languages, one of which must be English.

South African citizenship.

No previous criminal/departmental convictions or pending cases.

Valid light motor vehicle driver’s licence.

No visible tattoos when wearing SAPS uniform.

Relevant courses in the field may be advantageous.

Additional Requirements:

Asset Forfeiture Investigation:
A 3-year Diploma/Degree (NQF level 6 or higher) in Policing, Law, Forensic Investigation, Accounting, Auditing, or related fields. Experience is advantageous.

Cyber Crime Investigation:
A 3-year Diploma/Degree (NQF level 6 or higher) in Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Criminology, IT, or Forensic Science. Certified training in software like Encase, FTK, or Cellebrite is advantageous.

Financial Investigation:
A 3-year Diploma/Degree (NQF level 6 or higher) in Forensic Investigation, Accounting, Auditing, Economics, or related fields. Experience is advantageous.

Core Functions

  • Asset Forfeiture Investigation: Tracing property, compiling statements, liaising with stakeholders, and court appearances.
  • Cyber Crime Investigation: Digital forensic investigations, data analysis, and cyber awareness campaigns.
  • Financial Investigation: Conducting financial investigations, analyzing bank statements, and court appearances.
