Overview:
The South African Police Service is calling on young, dedicated, and fit individuals of all races and genders to apply for entry-level Police Trainee positions for the 2025/2026 intake. What You’ll Get:

Career Pathway Opportunities:
Candidates with a 3-year National Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6 or higher) in any of the following fields may be considered for specialized units:
- Criminology
- Policing
- Law
- Law Enforcement
- Forensic Investigation
- Information Technology (IT)
Placement may include:
- Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI)
- Detective and Forensic Services
- Crime Intelligence (CI)
Key Responsibilities:
As a Constable, your core duties will include:
- Preventing and investigating crime
- Maintaining public order
- Upholding and enforcing the law
- Protecting people and property
General Requirements:
To apply, you must:
- Be a South African citizen (proof required)
- Be aged 18–35 (on closing date)
- Have a Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
- Be proficient in English and at least one other official language
- Have no criminal record, visible tattoos in uniform, or firearm restrictions
- Be mentally, physically, and psychologically fit
- Pass medical, fitness, psychometric, and integrity assessments
- Be willing to serve anywhere in South Africa
Additional Preference Given To Applicants With:
- A valid driver’s license
- A relevant tertiary qualification (NQF 6 or higher)
- A Bachelor’s or Diploma-qualifying Matric certificate
Disqualifications:
- Dismissal from government service due to misconduct
- Criminal convictions or pending cases
- Chronic or undisclosed medical conditions
- Inclusion in National Sex Offenders or Child Protection Registers
