Registrar’s Clerk (3 Positions)
- Reference Numbers: 2024/178/OCJ (Western Cape), 2024/179/OCJ (KwaZulu-Natal), 2024/182/OCJ (Free State)
- Salary: R216,417 – R254,928 per annum (Level 05)
- Locations: Western Cape High Court (Cape Town), KwaZulu-Natal High Court (Durban), Free State High Court (Bloemfontein)
- Contract: Permanent, includes signing a performance agreement
Requirements
- Education: Matric Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Experience:
- General administrative experience preferred
- Court-related functions experience and familiarity with appeal/petition processes are advantageous
- Experience with HR functions or PERSAL systems is beneficial for Free State and KwaZulu-Natal locations
- Valid driver’s license is an asset
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong administrative, organizational, and numerical skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Ability to work under pressure and solve problems
- Attention to detail, customer service orientation, and ability to work independently
Key Responsibilities
- General Administrative and Case Management Support:
- Perform clerical and case management duties within the court
- Manage and archive court records, ensuring proper filing and safekeeping
- Assist with the administration of appeal and petition processes and handle all stakeholder enquiries
- Counter Service and Document Processing:
- Issue and manage court documents and processes at the General Office
- Coordinate with Registrars for file verification and document requests
- HR and Financial Administration (KwaZulu-Natal and Free State Divisions):
- Support HR functions including leave applications, salary administration, and processing service benefits
- Maintain personnel records, including probation and performance reports, and assist with claims for overtime and allowances

Additional Information for Senior Management Service (SMS) Applicants:
Shortlisted candidates will complete a technical competency exercise, and final recommendations will include managerial competency assessments mandated by the DPSA.

Successful candidates will be required to sign an employment contract, performance agreement, and undergo security clearance within three months of appointment.
