About the Opportunity
Rand Water invites suitably qualified and previously disadvantaged individuals to apply for its Procurement Officer Learnership Programme (NQF Level 5). This programme is designed to equip learners with essential knowledge, practical skills, and workplace experience to function effectively as Procurement Officers.
Key Responsibilities
As a Procurement Officer, you will:
Develop and maintain operational procurement schedules.
Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and negotiations.
Monitor and evaluate procurement performance.
During the Learnership, you will:
Attend structured training sessions.
Participate in discussions and practical activities.
Complete assignments, projects, and assessments.
Maintain a practical logbook for skills evaluation.
Minimum Requirements
General Criteria:
Must be unemployed.
Must NOT be enrolled in any other qualification or learnership.
Must NOT possess a post-matric qualification (disclosure failure leads to disqualification).
Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics Literacy & English (Level 4 minimum in both).
SAQA/NLRD verification report (obtainable from SAQA).
South African citizen with a valid ID.
Aged between 18–35 years (aligned with NSDS III).
Additional Requirements for People with Disabilities (PWDs):
Deaf/hard-of-hearing applicants must provide their own interpreters (at their own cost).
Proof of disability (Doctor’s Certificate/ITRDD13 form) must be submitted.

Knowledge: Understanding of Rand Water’s mandate in the water sector.

Probation Period:
