Job Summary
The World Bank is hiring a skilled Office Driver for its Pretoria, South Africa location. This role entails operating office vehicles to transport personnel within Gauteng and occasionally to other areas in South Africa or neighboring countries. The position involves ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of authorized staff and managing related vehicle logistics for the World Bank Country Office.
Key Responsibilities
Transport personnel for official duties within South Africa and beyond.
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring roadworthiness.
Handle the delivery and collection of mail, documents, and other items.
Maintain accurate trip logs, fuel consumption, and mileage records.
Perform basic vehicle maintenance (e.g., oil, water, tire checks).
Uphold World Bank policies regarding vehicle use and transportation safety.
Communicate security information and monitor travel conditions.
Provide first aid and manage vehicle equipment, including first aid kit contents.
Qualifications
License: Valid driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
Experience: At least 5 years of professional driving experience with a clean driving record.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills:
Basic vehicle repair knowledge and maintenance skills.
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Ability to use GPS and Microsoft Office tools.
Strong knowledge of Pretoria and surrounding regions.
Discretion, reliability, and professional demeanor.
