Job Summary
The South African Police Service (SAPS) is seeking experienced Heavy Duty Truck Drivers to manage and coordinate the SAPS vehicle fleet for external deployment and mobilisation support. This role requires a dedicated driver who can ensure the secure and effective transportation of vehicles, equipment, and personnel nationally.
Key Requirements
Qualifications: Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) on NQF level 4.
Language Skills: Fluency in at least two official languages, including English.
Citizenship: South African citizen with a clean criminal and departmental record.
Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of professional driving experience.
Licenses: Possession of a valid driver’s license (code EB, C1, C, EC1, and EC) and a Public Driver’s Permit (PDP).
Physical Readiness: No visible tattoos in uniform and ability to work under pressure and extended hours.
Core Responsibilities
Administer SAPS’s armoured and operational vehicle fleet.
Coordinate vehicle transport support and ensure vehicles and equipment are securely packed, loaded, and unloaded.
Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and reporting on vehicle conditions.
Assist in developing and enforcing policies related to vehicle mobilisation.
Ensure compliance with national instructions for state and armoured vehicles.
Provide reports on fleet performance for SAPS Annual Reports.
Uphold Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS).

Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will undergo vetting, security screening, and practical assessments, including fingerprint and background checks.
