About the Role

Tshwane North TVET College is seeking two reliable and skilled Handymen to join its Facilities and Maintenance team. The successful candidates will ensure the upkeep, safety, and functionality of campus infrastructure through hands-on maintenance, repairs, and site management.


Minimum Requirements

Basic knowledge and hands-on experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and air conditioning maintenance.

Proven ability to perform routine repair and maintenance tasks independently.

Experience in key control and coordinating with on-site security personnel.

Must maintain 24/7 on-site presence and respond promptly to risks or emergencies.

Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and special events.

Experience in gardening, landscaping, or cleaning will be an advantage.

Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

Valid Driver’s License (mandatory).


Key Responsibilities

Conduct regular inspections of buildings, doors, fencing, and structural elements.

Perform general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and minor repairs.

Secure and manage campus access, including unlocking and locking offices and classrooms.

Handle key safekeeping, distribution, and allocation.

Perform gardening, landscaping, and cleaning duties to maintain campus standards.

Record and analyze information from the Security Occurrence Book daily.

Report all risks, threats, and maintenance issues to management promptly.

Compile and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on campus conditions.

Participate in training and development initiatives as required.

Carry out any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
