Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 Certificate or Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) qualification
- Knowledge of food service procedures, hygiene standards, and cleaning methods
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) and customer service orientation
- Must maintain professional presentation and confidentiality
- Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and make sound decisions
- Must be confident, independent, and willing to work extended hours when required
- Personal attributes: Integrity, honesty, friendliness, adaptability, accuracy
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and hygienic environment in food service and kitchen areas
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Report faulty equipment and maintain required safety standards
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act)
- Clean work areas (sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces)
- Wash and sanitize dishes, microwaves, refrigerators, and preparation equipment
- Manage and maintain utensils and catering equipment
- Collect and dispose of waste safely and responsibly
- Prepare and serve food and beverages for meetings and departmental functions
- Distribute refreshments in boardrooms and retrieve used dishes afterward
- Set up and assist with special catering functions and meetings
