Requirements:

  • NQF Level 1 / ABET Level 4 certificate or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food, snacks, and beverages.
  • Set up boardrooms for meetings and special events.
  • Provide catering support services.
  • Maintain kitchen utensils and equipment inventory.
  • Ensure hygiene and safety measures are adhered to.

Application Process:

  • Applications must be submitted on the New Z83 form (effective from 01 January 2021), available from any Public Service Department or www.dpsa.gov.za/documents.
  • The e-Recruitment system automatically generates a Z83 form when you apply.
  • Applicants are not required to submit copies of qualifications or other documents at the time of application. However, a fully completed and signed Z83 form and a detailed CV must be submitted.
  • The e-Recruitment Z83 form cannot be signed digitally. Applicants using the system will not be disqualified for an unsigned Z83 but will be asked to sign it on the interview day.
  • Although the e-Recruitment Z83 may not display work experience or qualifications, all relevant information is available to the recruitment team.

Shortlisted Candidates:

  • Shortlisted applicants will need to submit certified copies of their qualifications and other documents before the interview.
  • Those with foreign qualifications must submit a South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) evaluation certificate before the interview.

Additional Information:

  • Selected candidates will undergo background checks, including criminal records, citizenship, financial/asset records, and qualification/employment verification.
  • Successful candidates may be required to pass a skills/knowledge test and undergo competency assessments as per DPSA guidelines.
  • Appointments are subject to a 12- or 24-month probation period.
