About the Role

The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources (DMPR) is seeking a Driver/Messenger to support the Office of the Deputy Minister. This role involves transporting officials and guests, handling document deliveries, and providing general office support.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Grade 10 (no prior work experience required)
• License: Valid driver’s licence
• Knowledge of:
  • Public Service Act & Public Service Regulations
  • Functional areas related to the executive authority’s portfolio
  • Political and parliamentary processes in South Africa

• Skills:
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Interpersonal and diplomatic skills
  • Creativity, logical thinking, and problem-solving

Key Duties

• Collect and deliver official documents
• Transport the Deputy Minister’s employees, guests, and special advisors
• Ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures
• Provide general administrative and support services in the Deputy Minister’s office
