Job Purpose

The City of Tshwane is seeking a reliable and professional Driver Messenger to provide efficient and secure driving and messenger services. The role ensures the smooth delivery and collection of documents, parcels, and goods between municipal buildings and depots, contributing to effective and sustainable administration operations.


Remuneration

  • Job Level: T5
  • Salary Scale: R203,136 – R282,120 per annum
  • Estimated Total Package: R291,521 – R392,053 per annum

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 10 or equivalent qualification
  • Relevant working experience in a similar role
  • Physically fit and healthy, with the ability to walk long distances, handle trolleys, and carry documentation
  • A valid Code B driving licence
  • Must undergo a criminal record check and fingerprint verification (at own cost, via Tshwane Metro Police Department)

Key Responsibilities

Provide driving and messenger services between municipal buildings and depots

Report vehicle accidents or losses promptly for insurance and repair purposes

Collect and deliver mail, goods, and documents across Tshwane regions

Be available for deliveries after normal hours and on weekends, when required

Assist with event logistics and document transport for official functions

Perform vehicle maintenance checks (water, oil, petrol) and report defects

Maintain accurate log sheets of mileage and fuel usage for inspection

Adhere to all corporate fleet policies and procedures

Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and making copies as needed

Execute additional duties as directed by the supervisor
