Purpose of the Job
Transport goods, services, clients, and personnel efficiently and safely. Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles, and adhere to Departmental codes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport goods, services, clients, and personnel to designated points.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logbooks.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report defects promptly.
- Ensure all vehicles remain clean and in good condition.
- Adhere to transport regulations and departmental policies.
- Perform administrative tasks and provide relief duties as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Experience: Relevant experience as a driver.
- Education: Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Code B/EB driver’s license.
- Valid Public Driving Permit (PDP).
Skills and Competencies
- Accountability and the ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of transport regulations and circulars.
- Safe driving practices.
- Routine vehicle maintenance and defect inspection knowledge.
Salary and Benefits
- Annual salary: R131,265 – R154,626
- Service benefits:
- 13th cheque.

Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work overtime and perform standby duties as needed.
- Competency assessments, security clearance, and background checks will be conducted for shortlisted candidates.
- Shortlisted candidates must bring certified copies of ID, driver’s license, qualifications, and proof of registration (if applicable), not older than 6 months.
