Driver (Constable) Vacancy at SAPS – Pretoria( x 13 positions available)
Location: Visible Policing and Operations, External Deployment and Mobilisation Support, Pretoria
Salary: Band A – R226,188 per annum

Generic Requirements:
- Competence in core functions specific to the role.
- Proficiency in at least two official languages, including English.
- South African citizenship with a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) recorded on NQF Level 4.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Clean criminal/departmental record.
- No visible tattoos while in uniform.
- Applicants will be vetted, including security screening and fingerprint verification.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle pressure and work extended hours.
Additional Post Requirements:
- 3-4 years of driving experience.
- Code EB, C1, C, EC1, EC licenses, and a valid Public Drivers Permit.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer armoured and operational vehicle fleets.
- Provide transport support for vehicles, equipment, and personnel nationally.
- Pack, load, and unload vehicles for transport.
- Inspect and maintain vehicles; report any damages or losses.
- Contribute to policy and procedures for vehicle fleet mobilisation.
- Ensure compliance with National Instructions for State and Armoured Vehicles.
- Register, certify, and manage fleet use for Mobilisation Support.
- Submit reports on fleet activities to SAPS Annual Report.
- Adhere to Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS).

Medical assessment as per SAPS prescripts and competency checks for firearm handling.
