Basic Salary: R220 458 – R 284

Requirements:

Grade 12 certificate

Valid Code B driver’s license and proficient driving skills

Motor Cycle License; alternatively, the successful candidate must obtain such license within 18 months of appointment

Registered as a Traffic Officer with possession of a National Department of Transport Basic Traffic Officer Qualification (RTMC)

Fulfillment of all requirements for appointment as a Municipal Police member per Regulation 11 of the Regulations for Municipal Police Services

Computer literacy

First Aid Course certification

Minimum of one year relevant experience

Clean criminal record

Physically fit and able to maintain fitness levels

Willingness to work on a 24-hour shift and carry a firearm, while maintaining firearm competency level

Key Performance Areas:

Enforcement of Traffic Regulations and By-Laws

Reduction of traffic congestion

Crime prevention through enforcement of relevant legislation

Execution of specialized functions assigned to Metro Police/Traffic Services units to ensure effective response to service demands

Liaison with the Public and Key Stakeholders to uphold effective stakeholder relations

Ensure all administrative sequences related to statutory documentation, registers, and statistics are accurately performed

Conduct training for existing staff and potential recruits at designated facilities

Management of technology usage within the department
