Chartered Accountant Trainee
Location: Pretoria
The programme’s goal is to alleviate the SARB and national CA shortage. Trainees will have the chance to gain competences defined by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), supplement prior academic education, and build business acumen, life skills, and professional and ethical principles.
Requirements
Have completed or be in the process of completing a SAICA-accredited:
▪︎ Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA)
▪︎ Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA) or an equivalent qualification
post passing the CTA or PGDA, be eligible to write the Initial Test of Competence (ITC) Board examination. An academic performance record average of at least 60%; and
▪︎ South African citizen.
Additional requirements include:
▪︎ Strong analytical skills
▪︎ Attention to detail
▪︎ Good communication and interpersonal skills and be curious, self-motivated and resilient.
Trainees will be rotated around the SARB’s many divisions and subsidiaries, gaining hands-on experience and a solid understanding of the central banking industry. The programme will last three years, beginning in February 2025.
