Job Title: Artisan (Production) – Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Salary: R230,898 per annum (OSD)
Location: Pretoria


Position 1: Equipment Maintenance Mechanical (GPW/20)

Requirements:

  • Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
  • Completed apprenticeship and Trade Test Certificate in a Mechanical-related field.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Grade 12 is an added advantage.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to work shifts and extend working hours as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and breakdown mechanical maintenance of production equipment.
  • Minimize downtime by ensuring efficient repairs and maintenance.
  • Generate and submit reports to supervisors in line with established timelines and formats.
  • Conduct work adhering to all specifications, regulations, and procedures.
  • Assist in root cause analyses of equipment breakdowns and provide feedback.
  • Manage the lifecycle of work orders, from submission to completion.
  • Ensure all maintenance work aligns with GPW and regulatory quality assurance standards.
  • Contribute to administrative functions, including maintenance and repair reporting.
  • Adhere to SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality) processes.

Position 2: Mechanical Services Maintenance (GPW/21)

Requirements:

  • Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
  • Completed apprenticeship and Trade Test Certificate in a Mechanical-related field.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Grade 12 is an added advantage.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to work shifts and extend working hours as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and breakdown maintenance of mechanical production services.
  • Ensure minimal downtime through effective mechanical maintenance.
  • Submit detailed reports to supervisors as per required formats and timelines.
  • Adhere to specifications, regulations, and procedures in all tasks.
  • Assist with root cause analyses of service equipment breakdowns and report findings.
  • Manage and monitor the status of work orders from initiation to completion.
  • Conduct quality assurance to ensure all maintenance complies with GPW and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in administrative duties, including preparation of maintenance reports.
  • Follow SHERQ processes.
